georgeMartine George (SBS-EM faculty) holds a MBA and a PhD in physical sciences. She has over 25 years of professional experience, including 15 spent developing business analytics teams within large organizations from different industries. She is Professor of Management Practice at Solvay Brussels School. Passionate about developing talent and organizations in business analytics, she is also ICF professional certified coach, facilitator & trainer.

hoffmannWith more than 20 years business experience, including 12 years of consulting, Frederic acquired a broad expertise in Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) by implementing PPM best practices, methods & tools for major international private & public institutions.
He is now part of the Transformation Office of BNP Paribas Fortis where he’s responsible for project & portfolio management tools.
He is also lecturer and coach at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics & Management for the Executive Program and for the MBA in Brussels and in Vietnam (Saigon and Hanoi).
He holds a master degree in Economics and a postgraduate master degree in Management of Information Technology.

spindlerDaniel Spindler is consultant since 1985. He is also a co-founder of companies. He has conducted numerous assignments in a wide variety of economic sectors (such as retail, industrial equipment, manufacturing, media,..) and has worked with companies in France, UK, Germany, Belgium. As a Professor at Solvay Brussels School, he teaches courses of entrepreneurial strategy, growth strategy, strategy for the Company’s Board of Directors.

verdinOlivier is co-founder of OpenHR, bought by Arinso in 2006 following to an important international growth. He also co-founded 87seconds and AppTweak. He is now involved in several web start-ups.

Olivier Witmeur (SBS-EM faculty) is Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (Université Libre de Bruxelles – ULB). He mainly teaches Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurial Finance and Business Planning to graduate and post-graduate students, entrepreneurs, investors and consultants. He is also Deputy Dean for the Executive Education activities of the School. Beside his activities for the school, Olivier is an active Board member and strategic advisor in multiple growth-oriented entrepreneurial ventures. Over the last 15 years, Olivier has coached over 100 new and growing firms, published a book on business planning and written multiple papers on growth management in entrepreneurial ventures. Before joining the U.L.B., Olivier has been part of the entrepreneurial team of OpenHR (2000-2006), a successful Belgian IT venture company specialized in HR management software, where he was mainly responsible for financial affairs. The company was created in 1997 and quickly became international with operations in France, Spain, U.K. and U.S. By 2005, OpenHR had 6M€ in revenues and a 70 people staff. It was sold to Arinso International in 2006. Olivier has also been the Managing Director of EEBIC, a Business & Innovation Center / Incubator in Brussels (1995-1999) and Adviser to the Minister of Economy of the Brussels Region (1991-1994). Olivier holds a Master’s degree in Business Engineering (1991) and a PhD in Entrepreneurship (2008).

MARKETING FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP.

Carsten Bartsch obtained his degree at Universität des Saarlandes (Saarbrücken, Germany) and a Bachelor of Business Administration at Northwood University (Midland, Michigan, USA). Moreover, he got an MBA at American University – Kogod School of Business (Washington, D.C., USA) and a Ph.D at Leipzig Graduate School of Management (Leipzig). At present, he is Professor of Marketing and Strategy at Hochschule der Bayerischen Wirtschaft Munich, Germany and Director of Business Program at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences – FHV (Austria); he is Freelance Consultant and Executive trainer in the areas of Marketing Strategy and Sales, specialized on B2B Industries, Financial Industry and Sports Management. He is Visiting Professor of Marketing & Communication at MIP.

DESIGN DRIVEN INNOVATION.

Emilio Bellini is Assistant Professor at Politecnico di Milano where he also serves at MIP Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Business as Co-director of MaDe In Lab Management of Design and Innovation Lab, Scientific director of Retail & Distribution Lab-Corporate Education and Vice-director of Corporate Education.

Emilio’s current main research streams are Service Innovation Management and Retail Service Innovation. On current and previous research interests he has published over 60 papers in scientific journals, books and scientific conferences.

SOCIAL AND SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION.

Mario Calderini graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino and then obtained his PhD in Economics at the University of Manchester. From 1994 to 2013 he has been working as a Researcher and then Professor at the Politecnico di Torino, where he taught Economics and Business Organization and Strategy and Innovation Management. From 2009 to 2012, he has been Vice Director of the Politecnico di Torino PhD School.
He is today a full Professor at the Department of Management Engineering of the Politecnico di Milano, where he teaches Economics and Business Organization and Management Control Systems. He is also Deputy Director of the Alta Scuola Politecnica.

DESIGN DRIVEN INNOVATION.

Claudio Dell’Era is Associate Professor in Design Strategy at the School of Management – Politecnico di Milano, where he serves also as Co-Founder ofLEADIN’Lab, the Laboratory of LEAdership, Design and Innovation. He is also Director of the Observatory “Design Thinking for Business”. Research activities developed by Claudio Dell’Era are concentrated in the area of Design Strategy and Design Thinking. He has published in relevant international journals, such as Journal of Product Innovation Management, Long Range Planning, R&D Management, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, Industry & Innovation, International Journal of Innovation Management.

MARKETS AND TECHNOLOGIES OF THE FUTURE.

Chiara Franzoni (Ph.D.) is Associate Professor in the School of Management of the MIP Graduate School of Business- Politecnico di Milano. Prior to joining Politecnico di Milano in 2010, she has worked at the Intellectual Property Finance institute (Turin, Italy), and conducted research at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies (Atlanta, USA) and at the National Research Council of Italy. She also serves in the advisory board and executive committee of several companies in the energy and textile industry, as a family-business member.  She is an expert of Economics of Science and Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Intellectual Property Rights. Her research has been published, among others, by the Journal of Management Studies, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Research Policy, the Journal of Product Innovation Management, PNAS and Science. She participates to panels of experts to inform policy action at the national and European level and works as a consultant for the European Commission in matters of innovation, crowdfunding, and Intellectual Property.

ENTREPRENEURIAL FINANCE.

giudiciGiancarlo is a graduated in Management Engineering, Ph.D. He is an associate professor at Politecnico di Milano, where he teaches Corporate Finance since 2002 and where he carries out research and technology transfers. Previously from 1999 to 2002 he was a researcher at the University of Bergamo.

LEADERSHIP AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT.

After the degree in Occupational Psychology, Massimo Lupi started his career as Recruitment specialist In Prada S.pA. Then moved to Allstate insurance , Beiersdorf Italy as Training and Development Mgr, Sony as European training and development mgr. based in Berlin and after Microsoft Italy as HR Manager. Move to Redmond ( Microsoft HQ ) as WW Talent and Development Mgr focusing on talent and Leadership Development.
Licensed psychologist and psychotherapist focusing on cognitive constructivism and mindfulness.
Areas of interest: Leadership and team development, Organizational Behaviour and Change.
Currently Contract Professor of Organizational Development and Change Università degli studi di Milano and Adjunt professor of organizational Behaviour MIP Politecnico di Milano.

ENTREPRENEURIAL THINKING AND ACTING.

Evila Piva is Associate Professor at Politecnico di Milano (School of Management). Her scientific activity is mainly in the Industrial Economics and Entrepreneurship fields. So far, her main areas of research have been the following ones strategic alliances of high-tech entrepreneurial ventures: determinants of alliance formation, governance decisions, and performances; collaborations of entrepreneurial ventures with communities of users and developers (focus: collaborations of software firms with the Open Source community): organization and impact on diversification and firm performance; M&A of high-tech entrepreneurial ventures: organization and innovation performance; academic start-ups: relationships with public research organisations, role of TTOs and incubators; differences between these firms and other high-tech entrepreneurial ventures; high-tech entrepreneurial ventures: determinants of firm creation, financing strategies, modes of growth, and success factors.

ENTREPRENEURIAL THINKING AND ACTING.

Deniz Tuncalp is an Assistant Professor of Management at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Department of Management Engineering. He lectures Entrepreneurship courses at undergraduate and graduate level. Before joining ITU, he had been MVNO Business Manager at Marketing and Mobile Signature Manager at Business Development at Turkcell. Prior to that he had founded Turkey’s first local Internet Security Consulting company at year 2000 and received funding from InfoNet in Turkey.

DESIGN DRIVEN INNOVATION.

Roberto Verganti research interests are in the field of management of innovation, with a special focus on the management of product innovation, design, and research policy. In this area he issued more than 150 publications and he has given seminars in the most acknowledged international business schools. He has directed and run executive courses and consulting to several manufacturing and service firms.

He has been featured on the Harvard Business Review, BusinessWeek, the Wall Street Journal, as well as several national newspapers.
