The Advanced Master in Innovation & Strategic Management will provide students with the tools, skills and mindset needed to deal with the challenge of fast-evolving organisations. It helps students to develop their entrepreneurial abilities, to analyse complex challenges and influence their environment early on in their careers. It covers the main management disciplines (strategy, marketing, finance, project management, etc.) with a focus on the future. It embraces innovation in all its aspects, from technological, thanks to a real understanding of social media, new products and services, to new business models and organisational forms.
The programme will show you the importance of innovation and how to think strategically. You will master key management concepts and learn how to drive innovation projects. It will help you to develop your entrepreneurial skills and to understand the dominant strategic logic in many different sectors around the world. In short, you will learn how to think globally and act locally.By the end of the programme, you will be able to:
Make informed choices about strategic issues that have a high level of uncertainty
Solve creatively complex business problems
Work in or lead teams in charge of change management projects

Eligible applicants must hold one of the following:
– a master’s degree (four or five years of study)
– a post-graduate degree
– a bachelor’s degree followed by one to three years of work experience
– another degree equivalent to the above (please consult us for more information)
Admissions will be based on the candidates’ proficiency in English, on their background, professional potential and motivation.

This master consists of full-time day courses (60 ECTs) split over five terms and completed within one year of daily classes.
The course starts with an introductory week in mid-September, during which students discover what it takes to develop new solutions in a creative and entrepreneurial way. They will then have an overview of general management during their core courses.
The last two terms, students gain real-world experience via a deep immersion in the challenges of different industries. The key subjects at this stage comprise change management, case studies in innovation management, business modelling and planning, and a field project (a consulting assignment).

After graduation, an unlimited range of job opportunities will be accessible for you. Here are some of the careers that participants could undertake:
– Business developer or project manager in a small or medium-sized innovative business
– Project manager or business analyst in ‘new business’, R&D or the innovation division of an established business
– Strategy or technology consultant
– Advisor in innovation or entrepreneurship support initiatives: incubators, technology transfer office, venture capital, entrepreneurship centre, etc.

If you wish to join the Advanced Master course in September 2017, please follow the four main steps of our admission procedure:
1- Complete and submit the online pre-enrolment form together with the required documents.
2- Receive feedback on your eligibility from the Academic Director.
3- Have a personal interview with the Academic Director.
4- Receive feedback on your admission. If positive, please note that you will have two weeks to finalise your registration by:
– Completing, signing and sending back the admission documents
– Pay a deposit of €2000
Non-EU students: June 30th 2017 (recommendation related to visa procedures)
EU students: July 31st 2017.
Important: non EU-citizens must somehow be aware that student visa procedures may take up to 3 months, and therefore check the timing and conditions of their nearest Belgian Embassy before considering applying after June 2017.
Additionally, non-EU applicants must take into consideration that getting a student visa for Belgium implies the obligation to prove their sufficient and regular means of subsistence (631 EUR net/month in 2016-2017) or their sponsor’s. If they can’t, Solvay can support them if the applicant transfers the requested amount covering 12 months on a school deposit account (which will be redistributed on a monthly basis to the student as soon as a Belgian bank account has been created).
